Cadet Program Overview
MCSO CADET PROGRAM
As a Cadet, young adults have the opportunity to assist the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Cadets can broaden their understanding and firsthand knowledge of the challenges and job skills that make up their community’s law enforcement service. In addition to gaining a working knowledge of police work, the participants have the opportunity to give of themselves to the community. Cadets are volunteers and do not serve as county employees, sworn or civilian.
The Cadets receive specialized law enforcement training, attend weekly meetings and volunteer to perform important community services. Along the way, they learn to work as a team, they gain leadership skills, and they serve the community.
The Cadet Program instills ethical development for those who may be interested in a law enforcement career.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Cadet Program is not a program for “at risk” youth. An applicant cannot have any arrests and/or convictions for felonies or serious misdemeanors. A member must be able to work independently with other Cadets, Supervisors and Deputies. An applicant must be reasonably physically fit and able to stand for long periods and work in various weather conditions. Cadets must be able to take orders and instructions from other senior Cadets or Cadets of greater rank or Cadet Advisors. |

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Cadet Program consist of two squads that make up the overall program. Each squad is run by one or more Advisor and the entire program is overseen by a Lead Program Advisor, which is currently Deputy Daniel Beck. Information regarding our two squads, including their meeting location, day, and time is listed below.
East Valley Squad - Tuesdays 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Mesa 1840 S Lewis Mesa, AZ 85210.
Central Valley Squad - Monday 03:30 PM - 5:30 PM - Franklin School of Police and Fire 1645 W McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85007.
West Valley Squad - Pending Tonopah, Buckeye etc.
North Central Squad - 04:30 PM - 06:30 PM - Cave Creek 33401 N 56th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85266
North East Squad - Thursday 04:30 PM - 06:30 PM - Fountain Hills N. Fayette Dr, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268
North West Squad - Tuesday 03:30 PM - 05:30 PM - Wittman 21419 W Dove Valley Rd Wittmann, AZ
