MCSO'S CADET/EXPLORER ACADEMY
The MCSO Cadet Program holds an annual Cadet/Explorer academy in the summer at one of our Sheriff's Training Center. The academy is open to all Cadet or Explorer programs throughout Arizona.
Our first annual academy was held in 2017 and was attended by over 20 MCSO Cadets and was a success!
In 2018 we opened the program to outside agencies. In attendance were cadets/explorers from:
Maricopa County Sheriff's Office
Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Police
In 2021 in our continual quest for success our academy was attended by Lake Havasu Explorers, Avondale Explorers, Chandler Cadets and our own MCSO Cadets graduating 21!
In 2022 we were able to host Chandler, Avondale and Scottsdale Police cadets along side our own Cadets. Class 22-06 graduated 15!
Our academy is a 2-week long program usually running in early June each year. Our days typically start at 0800 hours and run until 1500 hours.
Academy participants take part in:
Physical Fitness Training
Law & Legal Training
Various Police Tactics/Techniques
Explosive Ordinance Demonstrations
CRP/First Aid Certification
Flag Ceremony & Drill
and much, much more.
Due to rising cost of supplies, we are requesting a contribution of $150.00 per cadet/explorer. Advisors are still Free!
Participants must be a member in good standing with a law enforcement agency in order to attend the academy.
